Introduction

Post by lgoring »

Hello and good morning from Florida!

I am excited to join the ApoE4.info support team interns for the next six months welcoming new members to this site. I started researching and learning about the Alzheimer's gene in 2017 when Dr. Dale Bredensen's first book came out. It was also a coincidence that my grandfather was showing memory lapses, frustration in simple calculations, and asking my grandmother the same question on repeat. I decided to do my own 23andMe in 2017 and found out that I have a 4/4 copy of the ApoE gene, confirming that there was a high probability that my grandfather has at least one copy of the 4 gene.

From 2017 to 2019, I was a health coach working at a clinic that specialized in Functional Medicine and Dr. Dale Bredensen's program. I enjoyed working with patients on their personalized programs, CNS VS tests, and seeing patient's progress. I am currently going back to school to get my pre-recs to apply to medical school in 2021. I want to continue the work I did as a health coach when I become a medical professional and specialize in the Bredensen's program.

I look forward meeting and greeting everyone soon!

Hello and good morning from Johannesburg, South Africa!

I am excited to join the ApoE4.info support team interns for the next six months. I started researching and learning about Dementia and Alzheimer's in 2019 when I started seeing signs of cognitive decline in my mom. A colleague gave me Dr Dale Bredensen's book, which I extensively read and used to develop my mom's care plan. I had early on tested for ApoE4, as part of my DNA analysis training and even though the results said I have 4/4 copy, I never really took the results to heart. However, upon going through Dr Brendensen's book and caring for my mom I realised I have to take an active role now in my midlife rather than wait until its too late. I discovered the forum from the book and browsed through the wealth of information that sits on this platform. It was interesting to know that there are people who actively manage their health and in particular, they are working on ensuring their genes do not express negatively. I paid more attention then and wanted to be part of such a group.

I glad, today I am here to serve others in the smallest way I can, while I learn from many people that have been on this journey for a while. I am truly honoured to be part of the Forum.

I look forward to meeting and greeting everyone soon!
